Our Jungle River Lodge is set amidst the most spectacular scenery that you will see in Honduras. You will immediately be struck by the immenseness of the lush green mountains that tower above you on all sides and the panoramic view of the river.
You are surrounded by National Parks, Pico Bonito and Nombre de Dios and their vast rainforest ecosystem. Pico Bonito National Park is the largest national park in Honduras , its highest peak is 2436m which many attempt to conquer but, you may choose to enjoy from our riverside hammocks.
Jungle River Lodge is the only lodge set right on the banks
of the Rio Cangrejal. Situated at a bend in the river the lodge
has its own natural amphitheatre to look out on. With its cathedral-like
boulders and pristine waters, it is like a natural playground
and you'll be climbing and jumping into the river like a kid
again.
The Lodge is constructed of all natural materials that blend into the vibrant foliage that envelopes the area. You will be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the river rushing past and awakened by the songs of the jungle birds.
A typical day at the Jungle River Lodge may include, whitewater rafting down class 3-4 rapids in the morning, then testing out your Tarzan skills as you soar from tree top to tree top on our Zipline Canopy Course in the afternoon.
As the sun sets on another day in the Jungle, you can enjoy
a cold beer while relaxing in our natural stone pools.
- El Sesimite Restaurant and Bar, serves substantial
and nutritious meals with a local flare, vegetarian option
available. You will have earned a cold beer or 3 after all
that activity.

canopy tours, hiking in Pico Bonito National Park,
wildlife trips to Cuero y Salado and Cacao Lagoon,
whichever adventure you are looking for we can arrange it for you!
- ALL TOURS INCLUDE A FREE NIGHT AT JUNGLE RIVER LODGE.
The free night is in the dorm or the dorm price taken
off the price of the private room.

research on the flora and fauna of the area.

Important Notes and Details
- Transport to and from Jungle River Lodge is included with the Rafting, Hiking and Canopy tours. Tours depart at either 8 am or 1 pm and guests can come back to la ceiba right after the tour or the next day at 12:30 pm (min 2 persons)
- There is a local bus to town, that passes right past the gate, every morning or we can arrange a taxi for you by radio. For early morning departures please try to have us organize this before 5 pm the day before.
- All reservations must be reconfirmed by email or telephone at least 24 hour prior to arrival
- Pick ups from the ferry terminal or airport that are not reconfirmed within 24 hours prior to your arrival will have to be cancelled. Delay fees generally apply 45 minutes after your ETA.
- If you need us to send you a taxi, just call 504 2440 1268 to arrange it or you can grab one yourself. if you want to do directly to Jungle River Lodge, tell the taxi that we are on the river side of the road at 7 km, Carretera de Yaruca, Cuenca Rio Cangrejal. Or take a taxi to the Banana Republic Guesthouse first and let us help you arrange your transport to the lodge from there. Remember to always agree upon a price with the taxi driver.
- When you arrive we start a tab for you at the bar which you pay before you leave. We accept cash in Lempiras or $US, most Travellers Cheques and credit cards (except American Express). If you are paying by credit card please do so between the hours 7:30 am - 3:30 pm if possible.
