Rio Cangrejal offers some of the best whitewater rafting in Central America, with lot’s of drops, waterfalls, and narrow passages. The tour begins with a river hike, which will have you leaping off of massive boulders and drifting through mild sections of the river. After the warm up, you will receive rafting instruction from our professional, highly trained guides. Then you will be ready for your whitewater adventure. Rushing through rapids, maneuvering the twist and turns of the river while bounding over waterfalls and massive rocks. This is a rafting experience that all experience levels can enjoy.

Rafting Rio Cangrejal, class 3-5, 7hrs
This tour is an extension of our previous rafting trip. However, this time we are going to set off farther up the river. We will encounter more intense rapids, class 3-5. This trip is ideal for enthusiastic rafters, who want a full day of adventure and physical exertion….and this will be a workout! You will experience the more technical whitewater of Rio Cangrejal, while having the time to take in the incredible beauty that surrounds you. This tour is a full day of great rafting with stops to enjoy a snack, swim in the warm waters and hey……..relax a bit!

Rafting Rio San Juan, class 3-5, 10 hrs
A scenic 45 minute drive west of La Ceiba towards San Pedro lies Rio San Juan. The river constantly rushes and pummels creating class 3-5 rapids, pools, and narrow openings with vibrant jungle bordering the rivers edge. Rio San Juan is a hidden treasure for those looking for an exhilarating, off-the-beaten track rafting expedition. This is a full day journey, including a one and half hour trek to our put-in site, but don’t worry we have mules to carry our equipment. A nutritious picnic lunch will served alongside the river, re-fueling your engine for the rest of the day. This trip has a minimum of 4 passengers and maximum 8.

Transport details

Rio Cangrejal daily departures from anywhere in downtown La Ceiba at 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Additional transport service available for pick ups from the airport and ferry terminal.
