We are located at Km 7, Careterra a Yaruca, 30 minutes from the centre of La Ceiba or 45 minutes from the ferry port of Utila and Roatan. There are several ways to get to us and back to La Ceiba:
We have reliable and trustworthy taxi drivers who will take you door to door for 450 lempiras for the journey from La Ceiba/Ferry Terminal to Jungle River Lodge. So if you find more people who want a ride, they don't charge more. Let us know in advance so we can arrange one of our taxis for you.
There is a local bus that stops right outside Jungle River Lodge. To get from La Ceiba to Jungle River Lodge, go to the Terminal de Buses Principal San Jose and the bus will leave from there.

If you book the Roneeys Shuttle for a non national destination, with no discounts and online or at their #1 location in Utila, you will be picked up from Jungle River Lodge at no extra charge. This also applies if you book on their website with no discounts, for no national travel to us, in which case you will also be dropped off here free of charge. Select La Ceiba on their drop down menu and add the notes, Drop off Jungle River Lodge. Roneeys has routes to and from Nicaragua, Belize, El Salvador and Guatemala. You can find the timetable here on their website.
Other Shuttle services are: Caribbean Travel and Greko Tours. Caribbean travel will also pick up from JRL for free at 7:00 am on their departure days. D & D Brewery has a shuttle to and from La Ceiba now so check out their website for details. You will still need to get to JRL as they do not bring people from La Ceiba.
For adventurous travellers with a tight budget, there is still the option of hitchhiking. Many of our guests have already hitchhiked without any problems. However, keep in mind that you are still in Honduras. Pay attention to your surroundings and your own intuition. Chances are good to find someone who can at least get out of the jungle, because there is only one way out - it is only a matter of time.
Buses To and Out of La Ceiba
We recommended Transporte Cristina for travel to and from San Pedro Sula or Tegucigalpa. It is inexpensive and safe. The main bus terminal is where they Depart/Arrive in SPS and where you can connect with the Casasola Express (Copan). Heading to Copan, the last busses are: 1:00 and 3:00 pm so you need to get the 8:30 am Transporte Cristina out of La Ceiba. The El Mochito bus to D & D Brewery also connect in the SPS main bus terminal and heading to the lake, run every 1/2 hr until 5:00 pm
