Our Location

We are located at Km 7, Careterra a Yaruca, 30 minutes from the centre of La Ceiba or 45 minutes from the ferry port of Utila and Roatan. There are several ways to get to us and back to La Ceiba:

By taxi

We have reliable and trustworthy taxi drivers who will take you door to door for 400 lempiras for the journey from La Ceiba/Ferry Terminal to Jungle River Lodge. So if you find more people who want a ride, they don't charge more. Let us know in advance so we can arrange one of our taxis for you.

By bus

There is a local bus that stops right outside Jungle River Lodge. To get from La Ceiba to Jungle River Lodge, go to the Terminal de Buses Principal San Jose and the bus will leave from there.

La Ceiba - Jungle River Lodge

Monday - Friday: around 10:15 am, 12:15 pm and 2 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 1 pm

To get from the jungle to town, you have to hail the bus, which is easy as there is only one road. The bus will drop you off at the same bus station, from where you will have to take a taxi for about 50 lempiras to the ferry terminal. Note, however, that the bus only stops when there are seats available and the time tables may differ.

Jungle River Lodge - La Ceiba

Monday - Friday: 7ish, 8ish, 9ish and 10ish

Saturday & Sunday: 8ish

By shuttle

If you book the Roneeys Shuttle Service through us, you will be picked up directly from Jungle River Lodge at no extra charge. This also applies if you book through the Roneeys Shuttle Service website before your arrival, in which case you will also be dropped off here free of charge. There are routes to and from Nicaragua, Belize, El Salvador and Guatemala. You can find the timetable here on their website.

Hitchhiking

For adventurous travellers with a tight budget, there is still the option of hitchhiking. Many of our guests have already hitchhiked without any problems. However, keep in mind that you are still in Honduras. Pay attention to your surroundings and your own intuition. Chances are good to find someone who can at least get out of the jungle, because there is only one way out - it is only a matter of time.
